Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup ground almonds

  • 1/2 tsp. Davis Baking Powder

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp. almond extract

  • Jam or jelly (red currant or raspberry)

  • Garnish: sliced almonds

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. In a bowl mix together flour, almonds, Davis Baking Powder, salt and cinnamon. In a separate bowl blend butter and sugar. Add flour mixture slowly and beat until just combined. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets. Press an indentation into the top of each for filling. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden around edges. Transfer to cooling rack and top with 1/2 tsp. jam or jelly. Decorate with sliced almonds.
