Classic Butter Pound Cake

 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Davis Baking Powder

 

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add egg whites; beat well. Blend in vanilla. Gradually add flour, baking powder; mix until thoroughly blended.
  3. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch Bundt pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Cool ten minutes.
  4. Remove from pan. Before serving, sprinkle with additional powdered sugar, if desired.
